Rather than read self-help books, I better myself by listening to and writing about music. To help me improve as a writer, and a voice, I am a student at Marshall University studying journalism.

I currently serve as the online manager for The Parthenon, Marshall's student newspaper.

For three years I served at 88.1 WMUL-FM, Marshall's student radio station, including a lengthy term as music director where I helped give exposure to a growing local music scene and helped tell artists' stories through interviews and in-studio performances.

I've interned for West Virginia Public Broadcasting and NPR Music's Mountain Stage

My writing has been featured in the Charleston Gazette, The Herald-DispatchHooting and Howling MagazineThe Parthenon and WMUL's music staff Tumblr.

Positions: Intern

May 2016 - August 2016, freelance basis since then.

Intern for Mountain Stage, a weekly live performance radio program which airs on 180+ NPR affiliates. Duties included preparing press releases, handling social media, filing BMI reports, content creation, and smaller tasks on show days.

I also produced a documentary on the day R.E.M. performed on the show in 1991. My responsibilities for that included obtaining interviews, writing copy, audio editing, and voice over work.

The parthenon, marshall university's student newspaper.

Positions: Online Manager, reporter, columnist.

August 2015 - Present

I currently run the website, making sure that the online presentation of our student news content is clean, with easy readability in the design and formatting of the webpages. In the past I've routinely submitted articles regarding the Huntington, West Virginia music and arts scene for print and online publication.

January 2014 - May 2017

I worked to curate and perfect the sound of a college radio station, constantly updating the music library with new, exciting music. I also host on-air programs where I carefully select the playlist to flow nicely in sound, and to show audiences that I put thought in trusting me with their time when they tune in.

I also routinely interviewed artists regarding their work, and have them perform on air, whether they be local, or nationally known artists.

In the past I've board opped sporting events, and produced live election night coverage.
